J.M. Hansen (a.k.a. Hanson) was a Danish businessman who had lived in Nanjing before the city fell. He was a manager for Texas Co. China, Ltd. (Texas Oil Co.) and one of the founding members of the International Committee for the Nanjing Safety Zone. He left Nanjing in early December 1937. His house, which was located inside the Safety Zone, was used to house refugees.
